Oscars: Final Nominee Predictions – 2015

imageOscars: Final Nominee Predictions – 2015

What a year it has been. The films of 2014 were unique which made the awards race a little tough to follow. In the end two films that came out earlier in 2014 will uncommonly be center-stage: “Boyhood” and “The Grand Budapest Hotel.”

“The Grand Budapest Hotel” is set to take home a bundle of technical awards while “Boyhood” is securely ready to take home the Best Picture/Director categories.

It was tough to find five to fit each category, with very few films “secure” in each one. But here is what we predict will get nominations in each category. Go to the Oscar page to see alternates.

Best Picture
The Grand Budapest Hotel
The Imitation Game
The Theory of Everything
Gone Girl
American Sniper

Top 20: Most Anticipated Films of 2014

Top 20: Most Anticipated Films of 2014

There are plenty of 2014 films that contended for this list. Despite 2015 hoarding all the popular franchise flicks, 2014 still has many blockbuster sequels and franchise re-boots/re-imaginings. This list is based on box-office anticpiation along with hype as opposed to any personal anticipation (many of my favorites didn’t make the cut!)

So here are the top 20 most anticpiated films of 2014:

X-Men: Days of Future Past
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1
Need for Speed

TV Review: Heroes – All Seasons

TV Review: Heroes – All Seasons
A couple years back many people in my life were talking to me about two shows: Lost and Heroes. I watched Lost a little over a year ago and I finally decided to catch up with Heroes. Even though this show hasn’t been a topic of conversation in a good long time, I still feel like I should talk about it.

The gist of what I would hear about Heroes was “the first season was good, then it went downhill.” I would agree with that statement for the most part, however later seasons had an episode every now and then that would deliver. Here, I am going to go over each season and score them overall. (more…)
