Take into consideration all of the hearsay, featurettes, trails, and gameplay demonstrations we have seen. Take all of that hype and potential and accompany it with the words of Bungie’s lead writer Joseph Staten, who in 2012 stated that the studio had intentions of “building a universe” that would “take on a life of its own.”
Gather all of the news and official statements demonstrated with an abundance of ambition – the incorporation of social media on mobile devices, the use of faceware’s motion capture technology. Package all of this into a game where the budget for marketing and developing is $500 million dollars, more than any other game in history. What do we have here?
The most anticipated game of 2014, probably the most anticipated game of the decade that’s hype extends further than any movie and television show on right now. “Destiny” feels and at times looks like it is, not only going to be the best video game of 2014, but the next big game to push video game technology into a new era.

Video Game Preview: What to Expect from E3 2014
June 10th is when E3 2014 will begin. We will hear about new technology, and most importantly new next-gen games. E3 2013 seemed to be all about the new consoles (and rightfully so), but a lot of the new games were glossed over. Next month’s E3 is going to reveal a lot and it’s going to be exciting to see what games will be testing the powers of the new-gen consoles. The year is almost halfway over and we’ve already seen some excellent games.
Keep in mind that this list co-ranks both the games released and the potential/expectations of upcoming titles. Also many games still haven’t announced their release dates and could be pushed to 2015.

Almost two months ago the most anticipated game of 2013 was released. “Grand Theft Auto V” was (predictably) a financial and critical success. The game currently holds a 97 average on Metacritic. 35 different Video Game publications gave the game a perfect score. For comparison, “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” (which ranks as the best video game of all time) holds a 99 (with fewer reviews).
The addition of “Grand Theft Auto Online” had a shaky start, but now that all (or most of) the bugs are cleared out, and everyone has had time to experience both multiplayer and single-player, we ask: Is “Grand Theft Auto V” a masterpiece?
