We have the complete list of the 2015 Oscar nominations, ranked by contenders most likely to win. Also we wanted to post this so we could comment on each category individually to voice our just concerns!

The only real surprise in Best Picture is the lack of “Gone Girl,” but it was already a bubble contender since people weren’t sure how many first place votes it would receive. “Boyhood” is easily winning this though.

Oscars: Final Nominee Predictions – 2015

What a year it has been. The films of 2014 were unique which made the awards race a little tough to follow. In the end two films that came out earlier in 2014 will uncommonly be center-stage: “Boyhood” and “The Grand Budapest Hotel.”

“The Grand Budapest Hotel” is set to take home a bundle of technical awards while “Boyhood” is securely ready to take home the Best Picture/Director categories.

It was tough to find five to fit each category, with very few films “secure” in each one. But here is what we predict will get nominations in each category. Go to the Oscar page to see alternates.

Golden Globes: Final Predictions – Nominations announced Thursday, December 11th

The award season is underway and precursors are flooding in. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s chosen nominations will be announced on Thursday December 11th.

On the film side of things we expect “Boyhood” and “Birdman” to get a lot of attention. “The Imitation Game,” “Selma,” “Gone Girl,” and “The Grand Budapest Hotel” should make some appearances too.

On the television side of things “True Detective,” “House of Cards,” and “Modern Family” should all easily show up. “Game of Thrones,” “The Good Wife,” “Downton Abbey,” “Fargo, ” “Orange is the New Black,” and “The Big Bang Theory” are all strong possibilities in multiple categories as well.

Golden Globes: Updated Film Predictions – November

We have completely updated all of our film categories for our Golden Globe Predictions.

The HFPA thinks a little differently from the Academy. It’s not really a copy/paste situation. In the past few days we have had some momentum shifts, from the strong premiere of “Selma” at the AFI Fest to the strong presence of “The Imitation Game” at the Hollywood Film Awards.

Most of our Television categories haven’t really changed. We will have one more full updated before the nominations are announced on December 12th.

Quick Takes: “The Theory of Everything” and “A Most Wanted Man”

The Media 10 doesn’t usually reviews movies, but we are changing that with “Quick Takes” a new segment that gives at most two paragraphs to recently seen movies.

The Theory of Everything (★★★)

“The Theory of Everything” is constantly at war with biopic conventionalism. With a sentimental, above-average script sculpted into something much more aesthetically pleasing. With top class directorial choices, acting,  editing, cinematography, and composition, “The Theory of Everything” is a step above the rest of its genre’s field.

A Most Wanted Man (★★)

“A Most Wanted Man” feels like a procedural espionage thriller. Almost too procedural, as it hinges on the performance of the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman who delivers in every on-screen moment. The story, adapted from John le Carré’s book of the same name, was probably best formatted for that medium. However, a strong conclusion makes the film worth the watch.

Oscar: Full Updated Predictions – November

We have fully updated all of our Oscar Predictions. Now including the categories: Original Song, Documentary Feature, and Foreign Feature.

With “Interstellar’s” reviews not quite being raves, it has been knocked down a few levels. The close we draw to the end of the year, the safer films like “Boyhood,” “The Imitation Game,” “Birdman,” and “The Theory of Everything” look.

There are still some movies to be seen. “Unbroken” has a lot of potential. Others would include “A Most Violent Year,” “The Gambler,” “Selma,” and “Into the Woods.”

Golden Globes: 2015 Golden Globe Predictions post-TIFF

You wouldn’t think it, but there is a significant different in the mind of an Academy voter and a Hollywood Foreign Press voter.  To end an excellent festival, “The Imitation Game” went home with the TIFF Audience Award. One of the runner-up films was “St. Vincent” another Weinstein film that should farewell in the comedy categories at the Globes.

We went ahead and updated everything, including television categories as we start seeking into a new Fall season for shows.

Oscar: 2015 Oscar Predictions post-TIFF

Now that the Toronto International Film Festival comes to a close, we have to all look back and reconstruct our Oscar predictions. The next big festival is the New York Film Festival where mysterious Paul Thomas Anderson film “Inherent Vice” will premiere.

We’re still quite early into doing all of this. But contenders are starting to fill out in various categories. Next Oscar update will include Original Song, Foreign Film, and Documentary as well.

Preview: The Potential of “The Theory of Everything”

Anthony McCarten isn’t a household name, but for the last 20 year he has been a very busy writer. Since 1990, he has written 7 novels, his first novel “Spinners” was voted one of the top ten novels of 2000 by Esquire magazine. He has wrote for 8 films, a few of which have been direct adaptations of his novels, some for television, and some shorts. He is written 12 plays and 1 musical. As far as films come, “The Theory of Everything” will be the most popular titled that he has worked on.

He began writing the script back in 2004. The film was to be an examination of Professor Stephen Hawking’s relationship with his now ex-wife Jane from 1963 when he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease to his success in physics. Jane Wilde’s memoir, “Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen” served as inspiration for the film.

Hypothetical Casting: “The Last of Us”

On March 6 Deadline gave us the exclusive that the PS3 hit video game “The Last of Us” will have a live-action movie adaptation.

Seeing as how video game adaptations have suffered in the past or have just been announced and not released (BioShock, Halo) many of us are left wondering if this film will be any good or even ever exist.

Neil Druckmann, creative director behind the game, will be writing the script. This is huge and something that should’ve been considered for all prior video game adaptations. They’ll be teaming with Sam Raimi and Ghost House Pictures.

The other big question is who fits into these roles? We have compiled a list for the perfect cast. Keep in mind looks aren’t everything, we’re looking for actors that can really fit into the part both physically and emotionally. So here is our list:
