Emmys: Final Predictions – 2015

Transparent-Recap-108Emmys: Final Predictions – 2015

On September 20th the 2015 Primetime Emmy award ceremony will begin.

It’s been about three or four years since I started predicting the Emmys, and it’s honestly one of the most difficult ones to predict.

Last night the Creative Arts Emmys were announced for all of the extraordinarily talented people behind the cameras. These are the best of the best, winning during this golden age of television.

Along with the technical awards, guest acting winners were announced, animated program, and TV Movie. We had finalized our predictions for those last night and you can see who won and how we did below.

For the main categories, Drama Series, Comedy Series, etc. It’s an all-out-brawl this year. Should be a lot of fun.

And if you’ve been visiting often, you may have noticed our poll in the sidebar. For the categories we polled we listed the current standings beneath. Voting will continue, however, right up until 2 days before the ceremony. The poll was for people’s personal picks, not their predictions.

Golden Globes: 2016 Television Predictions – September

fargo-season-2-trailerjpg-6457e3_1280wGolden Globes: 2016 Television Predictions – September

So many intriguing new Fall shows are about to start coming out, and before we know it, in December, we may be seeing some of them sneak their way into a couple Golden Globe nominations.

You have to kind of mirror the Emmys here, but the Golden Globes tend to take Television nominations in a different way. These predictions are real early, and predicting an “unseen” television show is twice as difficult as a movie.

We think that “Fargo,” “Game of Thrones,” “Mad Men,” “Transparent” will all make welcome returns while newcomers such as “Empire” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” may break out. Meanwhile “American Horror Story: Hotel” will likely hold down many of the “Mini-Series and TV Movie” categories.

So here is our complete Television Predictions. We’ve also updated all of our Golden Globe movie predictions which can all be found here.

Emmys: Updated Emmy Predictions

The next big award show is the Primetime Emmys. It is still very early to predict these accurately, but we think we are narrowing in on many categories.

The final season of “Mad Men” should cause a stir, while new shows like “Better Call Saul” and “The Last Man on Earth” could potentially breakthrough. Not to mention the return of “Game of Thrones,” “Mad Men,” and “Modern Family.”

Awards: Golden Globe Nominations – The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Niki-Lauda-RushAwards: Golden Globe Nominations – The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Many would have strong arguments that state that Golden Globes matter very little to the Oscar race. I think, in some cases, they matter a lot. Even since their slates started showing up more clean (No More “The Tourist” incidents) the H.F.P.A. has been given us some solid selections in each category.

This year there were a couple notable things that occurred. A couple notable films/shows that were left out of contention, and a couple of reasonable twists, and some unreasonable. So let’s take a look at these nominations and see what was good, what was bad, and what was just ugly. (more…)

Awards: Final Golden Globe Predictions

One of the most widely acknowledged awards shows will announce its nominees 5:15am PT/8:15am ET. After what we have seen with the Screen Actors Guild nominees you should be expecting attention from “The Butler,” “Enough Said,” and “August: Osage County.” Among the usual front-runners.

After tomorrow the Golden Globes Page will only predict winners of the categories and we’ll see how we did.

So here are the Final Golden Globe Predictions: (more…)

Awards: SAG Predictions

The Screen Actors Guild awards can be a little bit difficult to predict. They happen early in the year where it is hard to tell which December films SAG has seen and hasn’t seen. For example “Django Unchained” got nothing last year, because not one had seen it yet. Even though it had a very strong acting ensemble.

This year “The Wolf of Wall Street” has reportedly screened for the nominating committee, but what about the members? It is likely “The Wolf of Wall Street” won’t go anywhere here, but I’m going to take that road and say that it will get some attention (But I won’t completely fall for it here).

So here are my final locked-in predictions for SAG (with my runner-up choices):
