Golden Globes: Updated Film Predictions – October
We have updated our Film Predictions for the Golden Globes. We were going to do the television shows as well, but it seems like not much has changed there.

Big steps have been made by “Joy,” “Spotlight,” and “Room.” However, there are still many films to be seen. “I Saw the Light” gets pushed to 2016, making the “Musical/Comedy” categories even more obscure.

Emmys: Final Predictions – 2015
Emmys: Final Predictions – 2015
On September 20th the 2015 Primetime Emmy award ceremony will begin.
It’s been about three or four years since I started predicting the Emmys, and it’s honestly one of the most difficult ones to predict.
Last night the Creative Arts Emmys were announced for all of the extraordinarily talented people behind the cameras. These are the best of the best, winning during this golden age of television.
Along with the technical awards, guest acting winners were announced, animated program, and TV Movie. We had finalized our predictions for those last night and you can see who won and how we did below.
For the main categories, Drama Series, Comedy Series, etc. It’s an all-out-brawl this year. Should be a lot of fun.
And if you’ve been visiting often, you may have noticed our poll in the sidebar. For the categories we polled we listed the current standings beneath. Voting will continue, however, right up until 2 days before the ceremony. The poll was for people’s personal picks, not their predictions.

Emmys: Updated Emmy Predictions
Emmys: Updated Emmy Predictions
The next big award show is the Primetime Emmys. It is still very early to predict these accurately, but we think we are narrowing in on many categories.
The final season of “Mad Men” should cause a stir, while new shows like “Better Call Saul” and “The Last Man on Earth” could potentially breakthrough. Not to mention the return of “Game of Thrones,” “Mad Men,” and “Modern Family.”

Golden Globes: 2015 Golden Globe Predictions post-TIFF
Golden Globes: 2015 Golden Globe Predictions post-TIFF
You wouldn’t think it, but there is a significant different in the mind of an Academy voter and a Hollywood Foreign Press voter. To end an excellent festival, “The Imitation Game” went home with the TIFF Audience Award. One of the runner-up films was “St. Vincent” another Weinstein film that should farewell in the comedy categories at the Globes.
We went ahead and updated everything, including television categories as we start seeking into a new Fall season for shows.
Click on the category to see our full list of ranked predictions with alternatives and dark horses. Contenders are listed here alphabetically. You can see all of our full predictions here.

Many would have strong arguments that state that Golden Globes matter very little to the Oscar race. I think, in some cases, they matter a lot. Even since their slates started showing up more clean (No More “The Tourist” incidents) the H.F.P.A. has been given us some solid selections in each category.
This year there were a couple notable things that occurred. A couple notable films/shows that were left out of contention, and a couple of reasonable twists, and some unreasonable. So let’s take a look at these nominations and see what was good, what was bad, and what was just ugly. (more…)
