Looking like a very interesting award season coming. By the end of 2012 we will have new films from Spielberg, Tarantino, Paul Thomas Anderson, Wes Anderson, Ben Affleck, Joe Wright, Ang Lee, Tom Hooper, Peter Jackson, Christopher Nolan, and more. A lot of these films will be coming out during the cluttered award season of October – December, with some sneaking in.

So far everything is hard to tell. Predictions are based on the talent of the actor a small percent, the talent of the director a good percent, but mostly the politics of the Oscars. There are probably upcoming films that’ll have performances that will blow everyone away like Beasts of the Southern Wild did.

The year is long from over. For now here’s what it’s looking like. Comments?

In August I will have an updated prediction article with the remaining categories.
